The Power of Legislative Efforts

Businesses of all sizes benefit from local, state and national legislation. For many years, FBMA has been well known and respected in Tallahassee. FBMA's Government Relations Committee and staff work to represent our members’ needs in Tallahassee, Florida. We have fought and will continue to fight, for many of the issues that affect our industry, i.e., Tort Reform; Workers' Compensation Reform; Intangibles Tax on Accounts Receivables; Intangibles Tax on Personal Property; Building Codes; Property Tax Reforms; Price Gouging; Health Insurance; and Services Tax are only a few of the issues that FBMA has addressed in the past 15 years.

Ensure Market Access

Ensuring that our members’ products are not excluded from the market by building codes and government rules and regulations is another major goal of FBMA. We were active in writing the legislation that created the Florida Unified Building Code, and have been actively represented on the Building Code Commission. Additionally, FBMA responds to rules and regulations that affect its members’ products.
